Summary: A re-development of a decommissioned quarry and surrounding property into new retail space and a boardwalk path surrounding the sheer rim of the quarry walls. Sebago was enlisted to laser scan an existing concrete retaining wall roughly 150 vertical feet from the quarry floor as part of a north rim structural evaluation as well as scanning and surfacing the remaining quarry walls. Encompassing nearly 23 acres, dimensioning nearly 1300’ long and depth of 150’, the Leica P50 long range scanner collected the much-needed laser scan data. The point cloud data was then tied into and directly inserted, completing the existing site plan.

  • Cost efficient and safe method of collecting data, as dangerous site conditions, sheer cliffs, and a large survey area challenged the team. Level of detail scanning captured allowed for a fine detailed sheer wall profile surface.
